Parenting Sometimes I really wish these kids came with a manual! In this section you will find information on parenting children with Bipolar. Parenting these children present an entirely new challenge on top of typical parenting challenges. On top of that, we are flooded with an inordinate amount of well meaning advice from friends, family, educators, other professionals and even strangers! There is never a lack of outside advice on just how to take care of these children and 'all that will go away'. If they only knew! Seriously, as huge an issue as finding parenting strategies can be, avoiding unwanted advice that is often judgmental and condemning is often just as difficult. Those of us with more than one child can attest to the differences between each child and the need for adjustment as a parent to raise each child effectively. How many times have we said or heard the phrase 'they are so different it is like black and white (day and night)'? This is no less true in comparing bipolar children to their peers who do not have bipolar disorder or even two children with bipolar. Here you will find some parenting strategies and information that have been found to work for many who have struggled through finding what worked for their children with bipolar disorder. These will be some basic outlines that will require fine tuning for your child. Hopefully, if you are interested in perusing these pages you will find something that will make your life easier.
